84% of photographers that have a Matterport camera upload to Google Street View.

---

Hi All,

"We found, in a survey that we ran in 2018, that 84% of photographers that have a Matterport camera upload to Google Street View. We also found in that survey that 71% of photographers that use the Google Street View function with Matterport have found it the fastest way to upload to Google Street View," said UK-based Matterport VP James Morris-Manuel at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in an interview with WGAN-TV.

If you are not using Matterport to publish to Google Street View, why not?

Hi, I'm James Morris-Manuel, I'm the VP for Europe, Middle East, and Africa for Matterport and we're at the 2019 Google Street View Summit here in London. It's been a very exciting two days. We've been talking about lots of different contents and how things can be uploaded and provided to Google Street View.

Just to talk you through where Matterport's at, this is our workhorse camera, this is the Pro2 Camera that Matterport has designed and invented. We have changed the way our business ingests content in the last couple of quarters so essentially we now can accept content from the Ricoh Theta V and the Ricoh Theta Z1 as well as the Insta360 One X.

You can capture content with these devices, upload it to the Matterport platform. Our AI then makes that become 3D so you get the full Matterport 3D experience that you're used to with the Pro2 camera. From there, you can then upload to Google Street View.

We found, in a survey that we ran in 2018, that 84% of photographers that have a Matterport camera upload to Google Street View. We also found in that survey that 71% of photographers that use the Google Street View function with Matterport have found it the fastest way to upload to Google Street View.

It's been very useful for travel and hospitality especially, where clients have captured the lobby and then uploaded the lobby of a hotel to Google Street View. Also, with leisure and some of commercial real estate as well. Thank you very much.

Insta360 Global Marketing Project Manager Beichen Nie at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in London.

---

Hi All,

"You can shoot first and then reframe with this camera as well," says Insta360 Global Marketing Project Manager Beichen Nie at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in a WGAN-TV interview.

"You can basically make sure you're always in the post by reframing the VR footage. That way, you don't have to worry about not being in the frame or missing any shots. You can always get yourself in the frame with this camera."

How might you use this technique to make money in shooting residential real estate?

Hello everyone. I'm Beichen from Insta360.

This is our Hero [Insta360] One X product. The One X is a 360 action camera, so it can shoot 5.7K videos at 30 FPS.

You can also do slow-mo videos at 50 FPS and 100 FPS. With this camera, you can get amazing FlowState Stabilization, where you can put cameras onto different occasions like extreme sports, skiing, mountain biking, all the skating, all the different action sports, and you still get the super smooth footage straight from the camera; gimbal-level.

You don't need to buy expensive VR gimbal to get this footage. You can shoot first and then reframe with this camera as well.

You can basically make sure you're always in the post by reframing the VR footage.

That way, you don't have to worry about not being in the frame or missing any shots. You can always get yourself in the frame with this camera.

Ricoh Head of Global Marketing Thijs Ekelschot at the Street View Summit in London.

---

Hi All,

"[Ricoh makes] 360 content creation, very simple. We integrate now with Matterport or we're working closely with Matterport content creators, but with Matterport itself as well. Obviously to simplify the workflow for creativity, virtual tours for creating content," said Ricoh Head of Global Marketing Thijs Ekelschot in a WGAN-TV interview at the 2019 Google Street View Summit.

"Big difference between these two cameras is when we introduced Theta V where the very good high performing camera, but these are only at 14 million pixels for stitch files. Whereas with Theta Z1 we increased this to 23 million pixels, one inch sensor, shooting in raw, which is the feature that many professionals were asking about."

How have you liked shooting with the Ricoh Theta Z1?

Hi, my name Thijs Ekelschot, so I work for Ricoh and as you might know, Ricoh is a manufacturer of this one, the Ricoh Theta and this one, Ricoh Theta V, Ricoh Theta Z1 that we introduced earlier this year.

Obviously we're really pleased with these cameras. We make 360 content creation, very simple. We integrate now with Matterport or we're working closely with Matterport content creators, but with Matterport itself as well. Obviously to simplify the workflow for creativity, virtual tours for creating content.

Why are we here? Why are we at a Google Street View conference? Obviously it's our ambition to make sure that there's as many people out there as possible to create good 360 content.

Big difference between these two cameras is when we introduced Theta V where the very good high performing camera, but these are only at 14 million pixels for stitch files. Whereas with Theta Z1 we increased this to 23 million pixels, one inch sensor, shooting in raw, which is the feature that many professionals were asking about.

So we started to introduce lots of more features for the professionals, and hopefully this is a camera to your liking. So I would encourage everybody to start using it, discover it, work with it in Matterport, Google Street View, any platform, because it's just a fantastic camera.

Thank you very much.

Hi All,

"[In Pilot Era camera] Street View mode, all you do is press record. And after you're done recording, you can upload the files directly from the camera via Wi-Fi, Ethernet cable, or with a SIM card directly to Google Maps," said Pisoftech’s Jeffrey Martin at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in an interview with WGAN-TV.

"And you can get your "blue lines" published really quickly, without the files ever needing to touch your computer or anything else."

Transcript of WGAN-TV Interview (Above)

Hi, I'm Jeffrey. I'm here at the Google Street View Summit to show the Pilot Era camera.

This camera has been designed specifically with [Google] Street View in mind. It's one of the best, easiest cameras for shooting virtual tours in Street View.

It runs Android, and it has a touch screen. And you can record 8K photos, 8K videos, and seven frames per second Google Street View.

This is in Street View mode, all you do is press record. And after you're done recording, you can upload the files directly from the camera via Wi-Fi, Ethernet cable, or with a SIM card directly to Google Maps.

And you can get your "blue lines" published really quickly, without the files ever needing to touch your computer or anything else.

So it's a really nice, easy camera.

GoThru Owner and CEO Alin Bugeag at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in London

---

Hi All,

"For [Google Street View read-cameras] where the camera was not properly leveled, we have a piece of code that automatically levels your panoramas," said GoThru Owner and CEO Alin Bugeag at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in a WGAN-TV interview. The feature was first announced Wednesday (25 September 2019 at the Summit.)

GoThru also announced new tools "dedicated for the publishing of 'blue lines' on Google [Street View]," said Alin.

"For that we we have two approach: one where you can upload panoramas directly to GoThru and we will use the video pipeline on Google site, which pretty much means we convert the images into a video and we publish to Google and that turns into a blue line; or, you use a text or application, which is another new tool on GoThru, called the Street Builder, and you upload your 360s, you use the app to take out frames from your video, select whatever images you want, employ it to GoThru and then upload it to Google as a blue line."

Transcript of WGAN-TV Interview (Above)

Hello, my name is Alan and I'm the owner of GoThru, gothru.co, and I'm here at the Street View Summit 2019.

We've launch a few, new tools for GoThru, especially dedicated for the publishing of "blue lines" on Google [Street View].

For that we we have two approach: one where you can upload panoramas directly to GoThru and we will use the video pipeline on Google site, which pretty much means we convert the images into a video and we publish to Google and that turns into a blue line; or, you use a text or application, which is another new tool on GoThru, called the Street Builder, and you upload your 360s, you use the app to take out frames from your video, select whatever images you want, employ it to GoThru and then upload it to Google as a blue line.

Sounds complicated but it's much more easier and it allows you...it gives you control of what is in that blue line.

Other feature that we have, especially for 360 ready cameras where the camera was not properly leveled, we have a piece of code that automatically levels your panoramas.

So yeah, that's a cool feature that we just launched today [Wednesday, 25 September 2019]

"lots of Matterport photographers importing the tours and GoThru; cleaning up the links and then publishing back to Google"

Hi All,

Ever publish a Matterport tour to Google Street View and were not happy with the constellation (the links among the 360ºs)?

"... on [the] GoThru site, we have lots of Matterport photographers importing the tours and GoThru; cleaning up the links and then publishing back to Google," said GoThru Owner and CEO Alin Bugeag at the 2019 Google Street View Summit to WGAN-TV.

"Also, another scenario of using GoThru is importing, downloading the panoramas, fixing the stuff in the panorama, white balance and any other issues that you might have with the panoramas and then uploading them back to GoThru and publish the tour to Google."

UK-based Matterport Vice President James Morris-Manuel at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in London

--

Hi All,

"Matterport is the industry leader for residential real estate and a very big percentage of our business is in that market," said UK-based Matterport Vice President James Morris-Manuel at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in a WGAN-TV interview.

"... we're also moving into travel and hospitalityarchitecture, engineering, constructioninsurance, and a number of other verticals because the application of Matterport is so broad, essentially any physical assets can be copied and we can make a digital twin and that can be represented online."

Transcript of WGAN-TV Interview (Above)

Hi, I'm James Morris-Manuel.

I'm the VP for Europe, Middle East, and Africa for Matterport. And just wanted to talk a little bit about some of the things that we're focusing on in EMEA at the moment.

So few different core focuses. Obviously, one is geographic expansion. At the moment we sell into four core territories.

The first is the United Kingdom and English-speaking Europe, so some of Northern Europe. The second is France and the French-speaking Western Europe. The third is the DAC territory, so Germany, Austria, Switzerland and some of Eastern Europe, and the last is a Southern Europe, so Spain, Italy, Portugal, are the four core markets that we sell into.

So that's the geographic expansion that we're looking at.

And then the other piece is the segment development or the new verticals that we're going into.

So as everybody knows, Matterport is the industry leader for residential real estate and a very big percentage of our business is in that market.

But we're also moving into travel and hospitality, architecture, engineering, construction, insurance, and a number of other verticals because the application of Matterport is so broad, essentially any physical assets can be copied and we can make a digital twin and that can be represented online.

Thank you very much.

WGAN-TV Short Story: NCTech Technical Sales Director Andrew Baddeley at the 2019 Street View Summit

---

Hi All,

For Google Street View 'Blue-Line' Capture, NCTech iSTAR Pulsar pairs with a Backpack and Roof Top car mount.

"[The photographer is] positioned underneath the camera so they're not in the shot. And with this system, you can go around trails, you could walk down streets, anywhere that a normal vehicle management system can't go ...," said NCTech Technical Sales Dr Andrew Baddeley at the 2019 Street View Summit in an interview with WGAN-TV.

"... we have a vehicle mount [that] attaches to the roof of the vehicle, very easy to set up. And this is a quick release system. So this could be in the vehicle and then you're capturing."

Transcript of WGAN-TV Interview (Above)

Hi, my name is Andrew Baddeley. I'm the technical sales director at NCTech.

I'm here at the Google Street View Summit and we're here to talk about our iSTAR Pulsar camera and you can see here it's mounted on a backpack system which allows the wearer to walk around with the camera.

They're positioned underneath the camera so they're not in the shot. And with this system, you can go around trails, you could walk down streets, anywhere that a normal vehicle management system can't go, which leads me on to the next product.

[Dan Smigrod: (Off-Camera): Before you go on, what else do we see here?]

Oh yeah. So here we have the battery and then we have cable running up to the unit itself. And then this is our custom carbon fiber mount, the lock system, and that just allows that to be positioned directly above the wearer's head. So that's the backpack.

Over here, now we have a vehicle mount and this is magnetic feet. So this attaches to the roof of the vehicle, very easy to set up. And this is a quick release system. So this could be in the vehicle and then you're capturing.

And then when you're done, you just release that and off it comes. There it goes, take that off there, there we go. Pop that off and then when you're ready to continue capturing, just put it back on, lock it down.

So in addition to the magnetic feet, we also do clamps. So if you have roof bars with crossbars, you can clamp it to the vehicle. But this makes it a very swift and easy system to deploy.

So that's it. Two systems to use and transport iSTAR Pulsar; either vehicle mount for roads or backpack when you want to go off on the trails or on the street.

And that's it from NCTech and the [2019] Google Street View Summit.
